Dusk in Canoa. My Favourite Time of the Day.

Dusk has always been a preferred time of the day for me, wherever I am.  The light is more gracious, the sun is more delicate, and the mood seems to transition as day turns into night.  It is always a particularly charming period in any beach setting or tropical paradise of its own right, and it is not any different here in Canoa.

Since Canoa is so close to the equator, the sun setting does not vary much in time over the year.  The sun hits the horizon around 6:40pm nowadays.  With twelve hours of strong sun, and happy hour on it’s way, light turning into dark around 7pm is grandeur. The heat lightens and the temperature turns to a pleasant 26 degrees as the sunset comes to a close.  Una cerveza for one has been enjoyed a many times sitting on the beach watching the sun dip below the horizon. Then those absolutely mystifying colours present themselves, some nights more prevalent than others. Most times here in Canoa, the moon is already prevalent bright in the sky at dusk showing its glorious presence. I do believe tonight is the full moon.

The sun and the moon almost side by side.

The sun and the moon almost side by side.
